Global Consultation on Implementation of Blended Education in Bangladesh held
Considering the changing global situation, multi-dimensional use of technology is being added to the medium and process of education. Based on that, a global consultation meeting was held in Dhaka on Tuesday evening with an inclusive blended education pedagogy in Bangladesh's education system.
With the participation of government, non-governmental, NGO representatives and stakeholders from various sectors, this experimental initiatives review meeting was included the concept of blended education at the national level, its coordination with the new curriculum and panel discussions.
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Education and with the joint cooperation of World Economic Forum and Aspire to Innovate (a2i), the head of Accelerating Blended Education for Smart Bangladesh, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Soleman Khan gave a welcome speech in this seminer.
At the beginning of the meeting, Tania Milberg, Head of World Economic Education, Skills and Learning Department and Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor of a2i presented the keynote speeches.
Meanwhile, Senior Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Md. Kamal Hossain, Secretary of Secondary Education and Department, Soleman Khan, Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Samsul Arefin, Executive Chairman of National Skill Development Authority; Nasreen Afroz and World Economic Forum's Education, Skills and Learning Division PD Tania Milberg expressed their views on what initiatives should be taken by public and private institutions to make the country's education system suitable for blended education.
The Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni was the Chief Guest at the event. While the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and the Deputy Education Minister Mohibul H. Chowdhoury, BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh, Bangladeshi businesswoman, university academic and poet Rubana Haque were also delivered theirs thought as special guests.
The Executive Chairman (Secretary) of National Skill Development Authority, Ms. Nasreen Afroz, the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Mr. Farid Ahmed, Project Director (Additional Secretary) of a2i Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, Director of Planning and Development Wing of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam and Ostap Latsyshyn, an expert from the Department of Education FourDotZero, were present along with public and private sector stakeholders.
It may be noted that, in 2022, the Minister of Education at the annual general meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Dr. Dipu Moni presented the Bangladesh Government's National Blended Master Plan (2022-2031) and announced the creation of an Education Accelerator in Bangladesh. Following that, an accelerator was formed by the Ministry of Education, ICT Division and various private sectors. The four co-chairs of Education Accelerator are Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh as NGO representatives and Mohammadi Group Chairperson Rubana Haque as business sector representative.
